We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Landscape Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Description

• Supervise the work of assigned personnel to assure acre and safe condition of grounds and landscaped areas
• Oversee maintenance of the demonstration garden and other public areas to ensure that plantings are healthy, free of weeds, and the site is attractive to visitors
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise gardening activities as required
• Coordinate and perform landscape design activities and the determination of appropriate shrubs, trees, and various plants, direct watering of plants, fertilization, and pruning of grounds and landscaped areas.
• Ensure that equipment is well maintained; ensure necessary tools and supplies are available when needed and are replaced after use
• Ensure that signage, information brochures, and materials are displayed and available to visitors
• Co-ordinate with the landscape team that work is being completed and quality control measures are being adhered to.
• Communicate effectively with the landscape team to ensure tasks and instructions are understood.
• Manage and control the allocation of resources including staff, equipment, consumables and chemicals with tracking sheets available.
• Ensure that all chemicals have MSD (Material Safety Data) Sheets available at hand.
• Ensure footpaths and walkways are safe and in good condition.
• Ensure boundary fences and surrounds are neat and visible at all times, where required to maintain a fire break.
• Ensure road maintenance on and around the building including marking and signage are maintained and legal requirements are complied with.
• Manage the composting and recycling of organic and inorganic products • Manage the waste system both internally and through 3rd party providers and ensure adequate recycling and waste management strategies are in place.
• Ensure that watering and irrigation systems are functioning correctly,
• Conduct regular meetings with the landscape team to determine any problem areas, and seek suggestions from the team.
• Report and provide feedback daily to immediate line manager.
• Evaluate the status of the gardens and surrounding areas on a continuous basis, and upgrade where necessary.
• Control expenses and costs of plants, equipment and resources
• Take responsibility and accountability for all grounds and landscape areas.

Qualifications

• First Degree in Horticulture or any related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a landscape coordinator.
• Sound communication skills.
• Good knowledge of HSE principles.
• Sound leadership skills.
