Job Summary

• The Head, Finance will have the primary responsibility of implementing, executing and managing the financial strategy of the company and must be an excellent leader with strong business and strategic insight.
• The suitable candidate will drive all aspects of the company’s financial management including managing the finance team, maintaining strong financial controls, ensuring effective financial reporting & analysis, tax & statutory compliance and support in driving the success of the company by monitoring financial performance.
• Overall, He/ She will assist the brand in achieving its bottom-line objectives through finance transformation, optimization of operational cost, inventory control and increase in profit.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Reporting accurate and timely financial information of the company operations.
• Responsible for the company’s overall financial health i.e. adequate capital structure of the company for making sound short-term and long-term business decisions
• Drive the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Develop and constantly review financial policies, procedures and internal controls with a view to identify areas of improvement and achieving organizational goals, profit maximization, cost optimization and effective accountability.
• Develop accounting policy manual compliant with the relevant standards (IFRS or IPSAS) and oversee the development of standard accounting processes and systems for accuracy and data integrity
• Establish and maintain efficient and adequate internal control systems.
• Drive the company’s financial planning
• Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments
• Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks.
• Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations
• Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports
• Oversee the company’s finance IT system and supervise all finance personnel
• Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies
• Ensure prompt rendition of regulatory returns.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years proven experience as Head, Finance or relevant role in the Capital Market Industry.
• Minimum of BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
• Chartered Accounting Certification with an MBA in related field
• In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
• Proficient in the use of MS Office and relevant financial management software.
• Excellent ability to strategize and solve problems
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and people management skills
• An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
