Electrical Technician at an Upstream Oil & Gas Conglomerate

A leading independent Oil Exploration and Production company in Nigeria, requires the services of an experienced and dynamic candidate to fill the position below:

Job Title: Electrical Technician

Location: Nigeria

Job Description

• The ideal candidates must be licensed Electrical Engineer with extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the design, development, installation and maintenance of electrical systems and or/components e.g. power generation and distribution, systems, motors, control systems and electrical equipment utilized for hydrocarbon production.
• The candidates must be able to lead and manage multiple concurrent projects, work in a team environment, and be able to effectively communicate within and outside the company.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure efficient performance of the electrical and electronic systems
• Carry out in-depth analyses of problems and identify long term solutions and/or remedial options
• Ensuring electrical systems, installations and operations meet and conform to standards, statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Responsible for preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps
• Provide electrical and production installation support with maintenance planning. delivery and troubleshooting activities
• Provides technical and engineering support and guidance to offshore or on-site teams
• Ensure activities comply with relevant industry and company codes and standards
• Responsible for maintaining electrical equipment and the preparation of specifications for the purchase of electrical equipment and materials.

Qualifications and Required Competencies

• OND or HND in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of Upper Credit.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in an E&P company
• Experience in relevant and required electrical software
• Must have knowledge of applicable codes related to electrical/electronic engineering
• Proficient in design and calculation software
• Must be very analytical and capable of delivering results
• Must be capable of working with multi-functional teams in project execution.
