Job Summary

• We have a vacancy in our team for a janitor and Gardener to work across a number of buildings.
• You will perform a variety of maintenance and cleaning tasks to keep the buildings looking perfect.
• The Janitor or Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining a cleanly facility by completing a variety of cleaning tasks.
• Their duties include mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning surfaces with disinfectant and emptying trash cans or recycling bins.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Janitor

• Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows and walls
• Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones
• Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed
• Maintain outdoor grounds, cut grass and trim bushes
• Collect, empty trash and recycling bin.

Skills, Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of an SSCE qualification
• At least 2 years experience
• Good communication and organization skills
• Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them
• Ability to clean and disinfect various surfaces
• Knowledge of safety guidelines while working
• Excellent time-management skills
• Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
• Must be a team player.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Gardener

• Plants, transplants, fertilizes, applies chemicals, waters, prunes, and weeds flower beds and plant areas.
• Maintains flowers, bushes, trees, and shrubs.
• Picks up and disposes of litter.
• May assist in various maintenance activities as required.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• May irrigate, mow, rake, and trim lawns.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Knowledge of horticulture methods and materials, landscaping and cultivation of trees and woody plants.
• At least 2 years experience
• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
• Ability to perform grounds maintenance tasks.
• Knowledge of fertilizer and/or pesticide application.
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

Salary

• N30,000 - N35,000 monthly (Negotiable).
