Precious Palm Royal Hotel (PPRH) Bakery is a known bakery especially around Ugbowo-Isihor and its environs in Benin City that is into different varieties of bread such as small bread, medium bread, large bread, fish bread, slice bread, customize bread, etc., inside Precious Palm Royal Hotel (Precious Palm Royal Hotel Ltd, Lagos - Benin Expressway, P.O. Box 10341) as one of her SBU in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Bakery Production Manager
Location: Benin, Edo
Employment Type: Full-time
As a Bakery Manager you are responsible for operating the production and the general operation of the Bakery. You are required to plan production, stock raw materials and motivate the staff for optimum productivity.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages all day-to-day operations of the bakery.
Ensure the freshness of all bakery items especially baked bread
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the bakery premises
Coordinate with the store manager to ensure steady supply of all items needed in the bakery
Coordinate with the purchaser, maintenance, audit and account department to ensure steady supply of gas and diesel. And assist in ordering of raw materials.
Coordinate with the maintenance department for maintenance and repair including power supply
Liase with the marketing manager including the sales and marketing personnel on how to promote all our products
Maintain and control inventory of baked items
Ensure that nutritional values are not lost in baking/processing of bread
Ensure the packaging of baked bread attract customers
Make sure all staff follow the proper handling of bread and ensure breads are place on the right temperature.
Checks the quality of raw and baked products to ensure that standards are met.
Check all baked goods for quality before selling it to the customers.
Take charge of the quality control, date of stocks and production rotation
Direct worker training in the areas of safety, job functions and practices of manufacturing/baking.
Ensures that materials are on hand and coordinates with different departments
Recommends ways to reduce cost and oversee manufacturing cost
Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders
Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for bread production.
Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately.
Attends all scheduled management meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
Should be able to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with superiors, colleagues and subordinates efficiently and effectively
Maintain contact of our various vendors and source for alternative vendors for emergency supply or cheaper prices
Get feedback from distributors/customers and work on them or on their complaints
Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
Attend to staff complaints and welfare and also channel their request to the management through the HR/Admin. department
Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.
Planning and organizing production schedules timely.
Take counts of the bread produced on the shelves for records.
Assess production project and resource requirements for accomplishments.
Ensure health and safety regulations are strictly adhered.
Determine production quality control standards in line with the international best practices.
Oversee production process uninterrupted.
Schedule, manage and motivate all employees.
Schedule meeting with staff from time to time.
Responsible for minor repairs and maintenance
Ensure that the production will be cost effective by estimating costs and negotiating and agreeing budgets with both clients and managers
Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed
Work with other managers to implement the company's policies and goals
Review worker performance and identify training needs.
Any other duties that may be assigned by Management.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree / HND qualification with a minimum of 5 years work experience.
