We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: ELV Engineer

Locations: Abuja (FCT) and Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Purpose

• Responsible for carrying out installation, commissioning and corrective maintenance of the IT/ELV security systems.
• Typical equipment being IP CCTV systems, Access Control, Security systems, Motorized Gates, Inverter & Battery Backup System, fire-alarm systems, Smart Home Automation and Lighting control system and associated equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work across a range of complex and sensitive extra-low voltage and security systems and associated system installation and maintenance at client site and ensure they meet the overall client expectations and are in line with set standards of Off-Field;
• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of sites, including leading and managing laborers/helper on site as assigned;
• Perform the security system installations (conduit and wiring, termination and connections, configuration and commissioning) to meet the client’s requirements as specified in system design drawings, and to the set standards of Off-Field;
• Coordinate with Site Supervisor or System Engineer on all sub-contractor scheduling and material ordering;
• Responsible for taking deliveries of materials and supplies; ensure all tools and materials are maintained and safeguarded;
• Reviewing and offering suggestions to the project schedule and implement with little or minimal direction;
• Conduct testing on the installed security systems to ensure that they are functioning as per the requirements and specification of the clients;
• Perform regular maintenance checks on the security systems to prevent any possible malfunctioning;
• Respond to client’s maintenance requests and repair/replace equipment as and when needed in order to keep systems in working order;
• Coordinate with clients and System Engineer to detect and repair security systems as and when required;
• Prepare periodic reports on the progress or completed security system installations, commissioning and maintenance activities;
• Adhere to site ethics, safety policy and practices, and create a positive and encouraging work atmosphere;
• Provide guidance and support the Installer – System Engineering with work related activities;
• Will be available after hours, as is reasonable, for emergencies;
• Practice duties and roles in line with the authorities as illustrated in the authority matrix;
• And any other duties assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Engineering or any related field of study;
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience and work experience on the following systems - IP CCTV systems, Security systems, Security Gates, Access Control System, Structured Cabling System and associated IT/ELV System;
• Strong field service skills with a proven, demonstrable track record of installing, repairing and maintenance of the above IT/ELV security Systems and associated equipment;
• Ability to understand complex systems and possess good IT skills especially in the area of networking;
• Proficient in use of networking tools for troubleshooting;
• Interpret and implement electrical drawing;
• Ability to follow instructions and complete technical report documentation;
• Ability to foster good relationships with colleagues and be a good team player;
• Ability to work with little or no supervision under stringent deadlines and high pressure environment;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
