We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Intermediate Node.js Developer

Location: Lagos (Remote)

Role

• If building infrastructure for hundreds of businesses in Africa excites you, this role is for you.
• We are looking for an Intermediate Node.js Developer to own and ensure that our platform and core infrastructure product is safe and secure by design.

Responsibilities
Every day, you will …

• Designing, building and maintaining scalable software systems that power our products and infrastructures.
• Writing well-tested backend infrastructure code.
• Building and maintaining public APIs.
• Working with engineers, product managers, designers to bring our product vision to life.
• Code according to industry and team standards, adhering to good practices
• Write maintainable, readable code with extensive test coverage, ideally applying Test-Driven Development
• Create technical documentation for internal and external use

Requirements
You would be great for this role if you have…

• Minimum of 3 years of experience building production applications with Javascript (and Typescript), Express, Node.js, MongoDB.
• Understanding of fundamental database concepts – relational (SQL) database, nonrelational (NoSQL) database and ORMs/ODMs.
• Good knowledge of HTTP and RESTful API design and architecture
• Experience with unit and integration testing, and testing frameworks/libraries.
• A strong understanding of backend performance, scalability and security
