Job Title: Barman

Job Description
As a Barman you will be responsible to prepare and serve drinks to customers. Should be able to mix and match ingredients in order to create classic and innovative drinks in accordance with customers’ needs and expectations.
The purpose of this position is to interact with the hotel guests and ensure they have a great experience at the bar.
You should maintain positive guest interactions while accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests in a friendly and efficient manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
Interact with customers, take orders for drinks and snacks.
Join to plan and develop bar menu.
Serve snacks and drinks to the customer.
Check identification of the guest to make sure they meet age requirements for purchase of alcohol and other regulatory products.
Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
Mix drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages as ordered and in compliance with hotel standard drink recipes.
Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages.
Service Wine and Beer to guests.
Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays.
Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
Sell or influence others for up selling and suggestive selling.
Provide recommendations and suggestions to guest for choosing Drinks and Snacks.
Serve customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
Keep the bar counter and work area neat and clean at all times.
Provide guidance to guests on resort activities, dining options and the general hotel products and services.
Determine when a customer has had too much alcohol and if required refusing any further serving on a polite way.
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menu and promotions
Handle and move objects, such as glasses and bottles, using hands and arms.
Wash glassware and utensils after each use.
Maintain a clean working area by sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning of glass doors and windows, etc. if required.
Perform physical activities such as lifting and carrying of crates of drinks and bottle water from the store.
Call the Cashier to always raise receipt for drinks bought and served
Prepare inventory or purchase requisitions as needed to replenish supplies.
Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for Mixing beverages and serving guests.
Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
Comply with all food and beverage regulations
Be responsive and helpful with regard to off menu items such as classic cocktails and expand personal knowledge in this area as much as possible
Keep track of wines, beers, liquors, and other supplies.
Maintaining the product quality, by checking beer pipes, cordials, juices etc.
Follow the correct bar operating procedures with regards to: Stock rotation (FIFO); Requisitions (according to business needs); and Maintaining of par stocks
Always approach the guests with a smile.
Maintain a good working relationship with both colleagues and guests.
Report for duty punctually in the correct uniform, paying attention to personal hygiene and tidiness as laid out in our grooming standards.
Performs opening and closing procedures established for the unit
Attend training sessions and meetings as and when required.
Maintain high confidentiality with regard to guest’s personal information.
Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and body language at all times.
Continually seek to endeavor professionalism in your job role.
Any other duties as may be assigned by your manager/supervisor or management from time-to-time.
Requirements
Candidates should possess an OND qualification with a minimum of 2 years work experience.
