Dragnet Solutions Limited - Our  client, an integrated marine service and logistics provider in Nigeria, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Equipment Operator

Location: Calabar, Cross River

Job Description

• The ideal candidate will report to the Technical Services Manager, operate all technical and operational equipment which include forklifts, reach stackers, cranes and cargo lifting equipment in a safe and efficient manner and in line with standard operating procedures outline for such equipment.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Operating and running forklift, cranes, reach stackers and other operational vehicle as may be required during all operations
• Documentation of faults, reporting operational issues and defining Standard Operating Procedures for all terminal goods-handling task
• Accountable for the safe operation of assigned equipment, inspection, cleaning and lubrication of such equipment to achieve the desire efficiencies and effectiveness
• Participates in the maintenance of assigned equipment with other Operators and Technicians by carrying out cleaning, inspection and lubrication of his/her assigned equipment
• Track lubricants and spares availability with the Technicians. Also monitor spares and materials requisition with the Maintenance Supervisor for prompt service/procurement/delivery of the needed spares
• Supports improvement projects by participating in team meeting for problem solving analysis and documenting solutions for critical performance management

Job Specification

• Ability to Operate forklifts, Reach Stackers and Cranes professionally
• Knowledge of safety operation of such equipment as reach stackers, cranes and Forklifts
• Knowledge of port and shipping operation and ability to work at odd hours with great focus and commitment

Job Competency Requirements:

• Good Secondary School Leaving Certificate, Trade Test, or OND or Diploma in a Technical Subject / course
• Equipment Operation Certification will be an advantage
• Minimum of 3 years’ work experience as an Equipment Operator within the industry
• Good Communication skill: Oral, written and presentation skill (Ability to read and write in English Language is crucial)
• Basic Computer operation skill is required (for documentation and tracking of tasks)
• Physically fit and mentally Healthy
• Safety, Environment and Quality focused  
• Excellent team player and ability to pay attention to details
• Problem solving and decision making skills.
