Job Summary

• The Security Head will be responsible for the enhancement of the physical security of critical, non-critical assets and Human resources of the company.

Responsibilities
Leadership and People Management:

• Provide strong leadership and ensure clear strategic objectives are in place for the department
• Support the implementation and facilitation of relevant workshops and training courses
• Promote the organization’s core values and a strong team culture
• Manage the day to day performance, learning and development of the team, including one on one feedback sessions and conduct performance appraisals

Other Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement security policies, protocols and procedures geared towards improving company’s security apparatus and architecture
• The Security Head is expected to oversee all security personnel in the various beats. He pays unscheduled visits to sites even at odd hours to confirm attendance and conduct that promotes professionalism.
• Develop and monitor security budget for the department as well as controlling security expenditure
• He is expected to train, mentor, and lead on modern security approaches. Generates incidents and daily reports to management.
• liaising with government security agencies and security vendors in making sure that company operations are not disrupted.
• Oversee investigations of reported or perceived crimes, security breaches across all regions of the company operations and provide prompt updates on such investigations for further directives by the management, gather community intelligence and proactive information in company’s areas of operations.
• Directly liaise with law enforcement agencies like NPF, NSCDC, EFCC and others for possible arrest and prosecution for crime against OPAC
• Develop excellent surveillance and emergency response protocols to secure, monitor and control company’s security operations, assets, and resources
• Perform regulatory assistance services including procurement and processing of all local government/state/federal government permits, licenses or relevant authorizations relating to security operations of the company.

Essential Responsibilities
He will be expected to:

• Be detailed in modern crime prevention mechanisms.
• Build and sustain a healthy relationship with host communities.
• Be resilient and diplomatic
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Have strong critical thinking skills
• Generate concise incident report.
• Liaise with security agencies.
• Be organized and have accurate recordkeeping skills
• Be knowledgeable in monitoring CCTV footage for security purposes.
• Coordinate with external police authorities in the investigation and handling of crime
• Be proficientin the use of computers

Academic Requirements

• Minimum of First Degree or a higher National Diploma in Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, or related discipline
• Minimum of 10 years experience in Security Management, 3 years’ leadership experience of security assessment, planning and operational and security practices for high threat environments / multi-national operations.
• An Ex-police/ paramilitary or serving police who is looking to change career.
• Masters in security-related field is an advantage.
• Computer literate.
