Job Title: Medical Officer

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Brief

• We are looking for a competent medical officer to manage our medical team and supervise the healthcare services that they provide, also serve as a clinical advisor, oversee clinical trials, and maintaining high standards of inpatient care.

Responsibilities

• Initial triage, history taking, physical examination and management of patients referred to the cancer clinic for treatment.
• Performing routine diagnostic testing of patients like pap smears, and other tests that may be required under the supervision of a consultant.
• Collaboration with consultant oncologist and other specialists in the management of patients referred to the center, that may include emails, phone calls and telemedicine.
• Medical database entry, supervision and maintenance with assistance of clinic staff as available.
• Administration of chemotherapy agents as needed in collaboration with pharmacist and oncologist.
• Management of post treatment complications that arise in consultation with oncologist and other specialists.
• Management of patients admitted to the clinic.
• Marketing of the clinic services to physicians, hospitals, corporations and other entities as may be required by the clinic board.
• Attendance of tumor board meetings, conferences and other useful continuing medical education activities as approved and required by the clinic board.
• Day to day overall supervision of the clinic’s activities, including supervision of ancillary staff.
• Reviews will be undertaken monthly using Key Performance Indicators.
• Other duties not specified above that may be required by the clinic board.

Requirements

• MBBS with 3 to 5 years proven experience (At least 3 years' experience in health administration).
• A current medical license.
• Board certification in a relevant specialization preferably Oncology.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• A high degree of physical stamina and dexterity needed to perform various treatments and accurately administer medications.
• Applicants must reside within Victoria Island & its environs.
