Plastic Crates Production Manager at ColdHubs Limited

ColdHubs Limited is a social enterprise that designs, installs, commissions, and operates 100% solar-powered walk-in cold rooms in marketplaces and farm clusters, for small-holder farmers, retailers, and wholesalers to store and preserve fresh fruits, vegetables, and other perishable food 24/7 and extend their shelf life from 2 days to 21 days. ColdHubs aims to eliminate the impact of food spoilage facing 470 million smallholder farmers globally, due to a lack of reliable and well-situated cold storage at key points, within the food supply chain.

Our solar-powered walk-in cold rooms branded as - ColdHubs; are specially designed to eliminate losses of fruits, vegetables, and other perishable food due to lack of reliable cold storage completely and increase the income of farmers and retailers because previous losses have been eliminated. ColdHubs has been installed in farms, horticultural produce aggregation centers, and outdoor food markets within the south and north regions of Nigeria.

Job Title: Plastic Crates Production Manager

Overview

• ColdHubs is now launching the production, rentals, and sales of returnable plastic crates for the packaging of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other perishable food - “ColdHubs Crates’.
• The Production Manager oversee the injection mold production of returnable plastic crates.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for molding, quality inspection, and supervision to produce returnable plastic crates.
• Leads daily production tasks, work schedules, and training.
• Coordinates the sourcing of raw materials for production.
• Communicates raw materials shortage to management.
• Coordinates routine injection mold machine maintenance and repairs.
• Ensures cleanliness and maintains a safe work environment within the production plant.
• Respond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions.
• Maintains positive employee relations and adheres to Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
• Implements and manages all maintenance functions, including but not limited to preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all injection molding equipment.
• Assess project and resources requirements estimating, negotiating, and agreeing on budgets and timescales with clients and managers
• Manages all plastic crates production processes.
• Prepares daily, weekly and monthly reports and submits the same to the CEO.

Qualifications

• Education: University Degree or Diploma in Engineering.
• Job experience: 5 to 10 years solid, practical, and working knowledge in injection mold production of returnable plastic crates.
• Languages: Excellent knowledge of English and another local language.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to Detail.
• Excellent organizational skills, as performance monitoring will be done every quarter.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Permanent workshop and office-based position.
• Extremely focused, on top-of-the-matter always.
• Extremely detailed, with good thought process in injection mold machine operation and maintenance, crates production, administration, management, and use of support software.
• Self-motivated and trustworthy.

Reports to:

• The Production Manager will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ColdHubs Limited or his delegated staff, always.
