Job Description

• This position is for an experienced candidate who has vast knowledge of Satellite technology, Satellite NOC Operations (online monitoring of remote satellite terminals and network elements) and especially IP based Hybrid Satellite Installation, Faults resolution and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain Day to Day tasks as relevant to satellite operations and planning
• Work with the network planning unit and all relevant units in developing. implementing and overseeing satellite network implementation and operations for the Company.
• Analyze customers problems and issues (1st and 2nd line troubleshooting support)
• Take appropriate action to ensure resolve of problems in a timely manner to meet or exceed customer expectations
• Track customer reported problems following ticketing procedures
• Analyze customers problems and issues (1St line and 2nd line troubleshooting support)
• Escalate critical or high priority issues immediately to the next Tier of support like satellite operators and network elements manufacturers as appropriate,
• Coordinate the testing and turn up of service with all involved providers; Initial configuration for satellite terminal/DIU, router equipment and switches
• Conduct training for Field engineers on remote handling for VSAT and CPE remotes elements.
• Prepare daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly Executive Reports on satellite remote terminals operations/health and network elements status as appropriate
• Provide clear technical documentation and written procedures to ensure other members of the support organization can assist in monitoring, troubleshooting, and changing complex customer environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of First Degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or any other related technical field.
• A Post Graduate Degree in Engineering, or Business Administration, or Project Management will be an added advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years cognate experience in satelliteflP VSAT operations
• Experience working in a Telecoms environment either with clients or vendors.
• Project Management and negotiation skills.
• Good Information Technology skills.
• Vast knowledge of satellite technology and implementation in a GSM environment is necessary
• Should have an understanding of SPH/PDHIDWDM technology.
• Technical knowledge of common routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP etc), lPv6, VPN etc across a large network
• Strong IT and TCP/IP troubleshooting knowledge
• Good knowledge of Satellite c9mmunication and lP VSAT is preferable.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to proactively anticipate customer needs and make recommendations to meet those needs.
