Job Title: Master and Reference Data Analyst

Job Description

• Our client requires the service of a highly skilled Master and data analyst.
• The successful candidate will support the execution of reference data management operating model across the organisation, develop and maintain RDM practices and methodology, providing support and advice to divisions for consistent implementation across the Group

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain deep understanding of reference and master data set, vendor data, and underlying data architecture, processes, methodology, and systems
• Promptly analyze and resolve data quality issues raised by stakeholders and internal quality assurance processes
• Define, develop, and maintain automated data quality tests and matrices, monitor exceptions and take corrective measures
• Work with vendors to ensure timely resolution of integrity issues in their data
• Respond to queries on data, definition, logic, and methodology raised by stakeholders
• Define, document, and maintain data standards, user guides, definitions, methodology, logics, processes, and governance policies
• Develop and evolve RDM performance indicators for regular reporting to the Data Governance Council
• Implement tooling to support the execution of Group-wide RDM practices, including ongoing assessment of Group technology to support the central RDM capability
• Provide subject matter expertise in the implementation of RDM processes in accordance with the RDM playbook
• Facilitate training and communication of RDM to relevant stakeholders; and develop and maintain RDM resources (e.g. tools, templates, registers)
• Supports the Reference Data Lead carry out their duties
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to conduct analysis on data quality issues and communicates with relevant data stakeholders on proper course of remediation
• Management of reference data sets within the RDM tool.

Experience and Qualifications

• B.Sc in Engineering
• 5 years of relevant experience in reference data audit/governance/management in the capital markets data domain
• Intermediate-level hands-on experience in SQL
• Good understanding of primary sources of reference data such as KIID, prospectus, factsheet, regulatory and exchange filings, annual report, corporate registry etc.
• Experience of working on data provided by one or more vendors such as Refinitiv/Lipper, Morningstar, Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Compustat, FactSet, EDGAR, ICE, Thomson Reuters, IHS Markit etc.
• Ability to fluently and effectively communicate and collaborate with global business and technical teams
• Self-starter and quick learner
• Should have an eye for detail and analytical skills for conducting quality checks
• Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment independently with little supervision.

Good to Have:

• Microsoft / Oracle SQL Certifications
• Professional courses or certifications related to capital markets (e.g. MBA, CFA Level 1, NCFM certifications and online courses)
• Experience of data collection, methodology and/or data quality assurance in Funds space is a plus.
