Griller at Eatwell Retail

Eatwell is a retailer of a wide variety of raw, and value-added meats, seafood, fruits, and vegetables. Our products include wholesale and retail size cuts of beef, lamb and pork, diverse poultry items such as chicken, duck, quail and wide selection of seafood to include fish, crabs, calamari, and octopus.

Semi processed items like burger patties, meat balls, sausages, pre-marinated kebabs, are also offered, alongside ready to eat snacks. Our lean meat and superfoods section for the health conscious is supported with our in house food advisory staff. We are a food service company with the vision to change the narrative of food business in Nigeria. The underlying concept of our business is healthy and convenience food prepared in a clean hygienic environment.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Griller

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Grill requested food items in accordance with customers’ specifications and preset recipes.
• Manage portions of grilled food items and garnish them.
• Regulate temperature of broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Wash, cut, and peel meats and vegetables before preparing them for cooking.
• Taste and evaluate food items before serving.
• Receive raw food items from suppliers.
• Ensure that all supplied items are of good quality and accurate quantity.
• Ensure refrigeration and rotation of food items.
• Arrange prepared food items in an aesthetic manner.
• Check and recheck equipment temperature to ensure the accuracy of order.
• Maintain work area by cleaning and sanitizing constantly.
• Clean and disinfect grilling and broiling equipment after use.
• Ensure preventative and general maintenance of grilling equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage.
• Minimum of 1 year work experience.
• Proven experience as a griller.
• Good knowledge of grilling techniques.
• Must be able to work at a fast pace.
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Very good communication skills.
• Excellent physical condition and stamina.

Working Hours:

• Hours of work are generally long should be willing to work evenings, weekends and on public holidays.
