Job Overview

• Because we are growing, we are seeking a seasoned and savvy writer for real-time commentary on cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
• You will create news and opinion pieces for bitcoin.ng, and social media content for the team.
• This is a broad assignment with space for columns and blogging on all aspects of a beat that touches markets, finance, technology, regulation and more. For an ambitious journalist, it's a high-profile opportunity to build a brand at one of Nigeria's biggest news organizations, writing with curiosity and scepticism on a topic that is of interest to virtually every financial news audience.
• You should have a portfolio of well-researched pieces and a solid knowledge of crypto and related topics.
• Alacrity of mind is a must in this position which includes daily writing, as well as creativity and a willingness to write provocatively in a highly charged and competitive environment. We're looking for someone who can cut through the noise and write with authority, context and wit.

Responsibilities

• Complete news and opinion articles on a daily basis.
• Provide a content calendar for Nairaex in line with set company goals.
• Publish and tag articles appropriately on Wordpress.
• Provide weekly reports on site traffic and brainstorm ideas to improve performance.
• Research and contact industry experts for quotes.
• Leverage unique keywords in creating specific articles to improve SEO of the blog.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and news.
• Develop creative content ideas and strategies for the blog.
