Job Title: Shift Engineer, Operations

Job Summary

• The person holding this position will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all utility plant equipment and assist with maintenance tasks as assigned.
• They are also required to drive improvement across the site in terms of new machinery, hygiene, quality, and performance.

Job Duties

• Attend to breakdowns onsite ensuring that there is always a rapid response and that plant equipment and machinery breakdown time is minimised. Always endeavour to reduce downtime of site plant and machinery.
• Deliver on plant uptime and maintenance KPI’s through planned, preventative & predictive maintenance;
• Maintaining tools and equipment, so that they are in a safe working condition; as well as making sure that the workshop and plant rooms are safe environments at all times.
• Always adhere to Technical procedures and Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP);
• Make sure that there is good reporting and communication channels in place between Production, the Engineering team, and Engineering management;
• Responsible for all reactive and proactive maintenance work, whilst making sure it is carried out to the highest possible standards across the whole of the site.
• Maintains accuracy of shift operating logs, records, time sheets, work orders and other administrative documents related to the power plant.
• Investigates plant problems, incidents, accidents and unusual events, and provides analyses, recommendations, reports, and appropriate follow-up plans.
• Develops, assists, and revises operations and maintenance related procedures.
• Performs routine preventive and predictive maintenance on all systems and equipment; supports corrective maintenance efforts on selected equipment when properly trained or supervised.

Requirements

• Minimum of HND / B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering Degree.
• 2 years minimum experience in Plant Operations as a shift Operations Engineer.
• Experience of working in a chilled or frozen environment preferable;
• Experience in managing contractors on-site.
• Knowledge of and experience in: mechanical maintenance, rigging, rotating machine repair, fabrication, machine alignment, basic vibration analysis, and using electrical test equipment.
• Ability to locate, trouble-shoot, and adjust defects in mechanical equipment and/or maintain, install, modify and trouble-shoot plant electrical systems and equipment.
• Ability to operate and maintain various analytical and test equipment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Salary
130,000 - 170,000 monthly
