Raadaa Partners International Limited - Our client, Samuel Maduka Foundation, promoters of Samuel Maduka University, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Academic Team Leader

Location: Enugu

Job Summary

• We seek the services of an Academic Team Leader to drive the final processes of the formation of the University. The individual will work with the Promoter and Board of Trustees to ensure that milestones required for the University’s take off are realized. Specifically, the Academic Team Leader will assist in:
  • Coordinating the delivery of physical and other support services for the Universities takeoff
  • Develop the framework for the University’s foundational Strategic plan
  • Initiate outreach activities, including communications, events, conferences relating to the University
  • Coordinate the relationship between the University and key regulatory agencies such as NUC and JAMB
  • Assist in monitoring expenses, budgets, and finances.

Minimum Qualifications

• A PhD and a full Professorial rank of not less than five in a recognized university.
• Demonstrate oral, written, and analytical skills
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Very Strong Reporting Skills
• Creativity and responsiveness
• Above entry user level of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Applications

Person Specification:
The candidate who should not be more than 65 years by May, 2021 and should have:

• A good understanding of the Nigerian Higher Education landscape, its current and future challenges including opportunities.
• A clear understanding of private universities, and their role in the development of the Country and its commitment to being a regional hub of excellence and promoter of public and private good.
• A good understanding of the role of libraries, academic technology support, emerging technologies, the role of laboratories and the internet in the emergence of global universities.
• A good understanding of student success, university/industry relations.
• A strong entrepreneurial mindset.
• A good understanding of Distance Learning / Online programs and their place in post COVID-19 university education.
• Sound health and moral standing not being a convict nor one indicted by an official panel.

Working Conditions:

• The appointment will be for a single term of one year in the first instance while the compensation will be negotiable and based on experience and competencies. The candidate may be required to work extended hours, including weekends, and must be able and willing to travel at short notice.
