Purpose of the Job

• Responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Planning & Design teams as well as the management and execution of site/software development projects against delivery commitments and projects to plan and design Infrastructure Architecture.
• Strategic and tactical responsibility for best  in  class business practices that will deliver to the customer’s expectations, ensure development and manage all aspects of Infrastructure planning  design and creative output with accountability for online and offline design output and commercial success of such designs are aligned to client expectations and executed within budget and timescales.

Educational Qualifications & Functional Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent (2.2/Upper Credit Minimum)
• Good communication skills both in written and verbal form are imperative
• Ability to manage competing demands in an environment with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
• A flexible approach to be office or site based according to the needs of the business and client
• Ability to technologically adept and demonstrate outstanding computer skills, possess an innate understanding of data modeling and SQL for scalability and performance as well as a strong JavaScript, XHTML, CSS, and MVC framework
• Ability to propose systems design and configuration improvements
• Curiosity and exposure to new and emerging technologies
• Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and handle multiple priorities
• Ability to plan, organize and document complex system designs

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in systems administration and engineering
• Strong ability to collaborate with peers and stakeholders around system designs, capacity, road maps and resource allocation
• Significant experience in all aspects of planning, design and scheduling
• Experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management.
• Strong experience with Capacity Planning and Infrastructure Monitoring
• Experience of managing multiple IT and telecommunications disciplines i.e. software development, technical support, systems architecture, etc.
• Experience in Data Center Operations planning and driving efficiencies across the infrastructure
• Experience with developing and enforcing standards and best practices in managing large scale cloud infrastructure
• Experience in management of complex technology infrastructure projects
• Experience of data center design, construction and fit out projects a plus
• Strong experience with infrastructure sizing and scaling dependent upon application load and demand
• Experience working in the Telecommunications industry with a track record of technical achievement
• Experience with large scale infrastructure automation
• Knowledge and understanding of the Nigerian and global Information Technology Industry especially Telecommunications
• Experience with distributed system architectures
• Strong experience as a line manager and a coach leading diverse teams
