Job Title: Head of Product and Engineering

Job Description

• The Head of Product and Engineering will oversee all of our software development and product management activities.
• You will develop highly scalable software architectures for digital products. This includes identifying and analyzing requirements and transferring them into technical concepts.
• You will work closely together with the Engineering Manager, Product development managers and contribute actively to developing scalable products for the company.

Your key Responsibilities involves that you:

• Work directly with the engineering/technical team to understand their requirements, business drivers, strategies, and architectures, cloud adoption roadmaps, operating models, KPI, and defined product specifications in-line with recommended best-practice architectures to achieve positive business outcomes.
• Liaise closely with our product management team and provide expertise for successfully deploying scalable digital solutions.
• Outline the dependencies and skills required to deliver solutions.
• Challenges and then documents the solution details including risks, constraints, alternatives, and reason for the proposed solution.
• Understands the business background, issues, and implications of the specific solution being addressed.
• Ensures compliance between the system architecture and solution architecture.
• Specifies user/system interfaces and translates user stories into physical designs taking account of the target environment, performance requirements, and existing systems.
• Lead technical and functional team members through the design and build process.
• Work with the technology team to establish Change control & release management and software application maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with standards, processes, and policies set.
• Ensure documentation is current and relevant to ensure stakeholders remain informed.
• Provide input to business and planning forums aligning the application portfolio to meet business needs.
• Identify operational ‘problems and work with teams to resolve them through planned proactive activities, communicating to the management team regularly.

Qualifications and Experience

• B.Sc/M.Sc Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• 6 years Software Architect (Nodejs/Reactjs) Experience.
• Experience working closely with Product Managers
• Experience designing, building, migrating, refactoring, or operating large-scale and impactful IT systems/workloads/applications.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
• Experience as a Solution Architect in a tech company will be an added advantage
• Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies.
• Good analytical skills in linking technical and commercial implications.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
• Experience evaluating the technical resources required.
• Strong presentational skills and ability to lead technical and business-level conversations. With experience in presenting ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language, to diverged audiences.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with a high degree of comfort dealing with the technical team, product development team.

Salary and Benefits

• N800,000 - N1,000,000 monthly.
