Job Description
We desire the service of an experienced constructions sites storekeeper to oversee daily store operations, who shall be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of stocks, operation of an accounting system, maintenance of inventory records, preparation of material orders, and receiving, reviewing, and storing of supplies disbursed on job orders and material transfers.
The storekeeper job summary also entails overseeing and ensuring that the tools, equipment, and several other materials that are used in the construction project are safe, secure, well-maintained, and well-managed.
To succeed at this role, the responsibilities includes:
Receiving material, shelving supplies, stocking, recording receipt, assisting procurement to prepare quality report of the material received.
Maintaining and keeping track of receipts, records, and withdrawals of the stockroom.
Issue materials as per the incident of different works.
Examining and reviewing deliveries for discrepancies and damages and reporting to necessary personnel for reimbursements and record keeping
Follow up with material supply, with prior consent of procurement, to ensure timely supply.
Overseeing and/or exercising general control over all the tools and activities of the store.
Record store material receipt and consumption daily
Inspecting the construction site and ensuring that all tools and/or equipment are complete and in good shape
Answering questions regarding procedures and resolving issues that may arise on receipts, deliveries, warranties, repairs, and surplus supply.
Secure merchandise by implementing security systems and measures
Maintain inventory by implementing purchasing plans and staying in contact with vendors and shippers.
General supervision on the site, regarding wastage of materials and improper use.
Recollection of any balanced/unused materials at the end of the day.
Handing over the charge of materials lying in the site premises over to the security personnel.
Prepare fortnightly/monthly consumption report with site engineers.
Update stock periodically.
Maintain record of department tools, machineries etc
Inform procurement and engineer of the status of balance materials in order to raise further indent.
Qualifications
Minimum of HND/B.Sc. in Business Administration/ Accounting/ Inventory Management, or equivalent education.
3 - 5 years of store management experience preferably in a construction company.
Excellent organizational, time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
Basic math skills sufficient to complete orders, calculate inventory.
