Position Summary
We are looking for an innovative and experienced Recruitment Specialist to join our team. The Recruitment Specialist will oversee the Company’s recruitment and work jointly with hiring managers to source candidates, screen applications, coordinate the interview process and make hiring recommendations in consultation with hiring managers.
As Recruitment Specialist, the ideal candidate will ensure the Company’s recruiting strategy used by the team is both up-to-date and effective. S/he will also conduct regular surveys to ensure business partners are receiving the needed support.
The Recruitment Specialist will work under moderate supervision and will be required to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate for the role will ultimately be responsible for ensuring our Company attracts, hires and retains the best employees, while growing a strong talent pipeline and improving the employer brand.
Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and update policies relating to recruitment, employment and other recruitment-related issues
Liaise with hiring managers to determine staffing requirements; especially across various geographies/markets
Search for and enforce new sourcing methods to find job candidates (internal and external systems)
Ensure compliance with employment and data protection-related legal requirements
Advise hiring managers on proper interviewing methods. Additionally, organize and take part in interview procedures as required.
Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
Promote Company’s reputation as “best place to work” during networking and recruitment activities
Suggest ways to improve the Company's brand
Onboard new employees in order to become fully integrated
Requirements
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent, in Human Resources Management, Organisational Development, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Sector Management or related discipline.
SHRM, CIPM or PHR qualification
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in Human Resources; specifically, as a Recruiting Manager, Recruiting Coordinator or Recruitment Consultant for a multi-locational organization based in Africa
Familiarity with the use of applicant tracking software and HR databases
Experience using social media and professional networks for recruitment
Experience in screening and interviewing job applicants from diverse cultural backgrounds
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent verbal, written and telephonic communication skills
Good understanding of HR policies and procedures
Knowledge of labor laws
Strong presentation skills, proven ability to communicate with diverse audiences, internally and externally
Ability to successfully collaborate cross-functionally and cross-culturally with others of different skill sets, backgrounds and levels within and external to the organization
Knowledge of social media and professional networks
Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently
Ability to make sound decisions quickly and efficiently
