Job Title: Security Coordinator

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The Security Coordinator reports to the company’s Operation Manager (OPM) and will work within the company's Security Management Section, playing an integral role in the delivery of security strategy to reduce risk and respond effectively to emerging threats.
• He/ She will provide hands on day to day supervision and guidance to members of his/ his team, ensuring the effective delivery of manned guarding services to the highest standards at all times.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Participates in the recruitment of security operators and supervisors
• Conducts performance evaluations for members of his/ her team
• Participates in security training.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the HRM and OPM to develop, prepare, and implement security policies and procedures.
• Coordinates weekly security parades
• Promotes and ensures a safe working environment.
• Ensure team members are brand ambassadors of Pentagon to clients and the general public
• To coordinate and administer duty rosters
• Ensures that a breach of contract is avoided while discharging their duties
• Submits recommendations for improvements when security gaps or threats are identified in a client’s facility
• Prepares weekly, monthly and incident reports
• Liaison between client and Pentagon’s Management
• Prepares Monthly payment timesheet for the operatives and submits to the Operation Manager
• Liaises with the OPM and HRM before engaging the services of terminating the services of a security operative
• Ensures compliance with Pentagon’s Policies, procedures, codes, and conduct
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• A Bachelor's Degree / HND in Business Management or any relevant field
• At least five years of safety and/or security experience required.
• Work experience in a reputable security company.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to converse fluently in English is essential
• At least 3 years’ experience supervising or managing a large security guard force or 5 years’ experience of coordinating manned guarding services
• Exceptional leadership skills and ability to command respect
• Able to think innovatively and prepared to make decisions
• Must have a good knowledge of IT systems and able to use MS Office
• Able to write reports efficiently and on time
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus
• Personal drive and the ability to be a self-starter as well as a team player
• Strong organisational, analytical and time management skills, with very good attention to detail
• Flexible, resilient under pressure and decisive with a proven track record of delivering results to a high standard within tight deadlines
• Good knowledge of access control, event security and incident response, in addition to a range of manned guarding duties
• Able to work out of hours when required.
