Job Description
BDEs skilled in grant and proposal writing strive to set goals and develop plans for business and revenue growth for the organization and also to receive funding from different donor organizations / individuals by researching, drafting, and submitting proposals.
He/she is responsible for discovering grant opportunities / building and maintaining relationships with funders, donors, and other stakeholders within the community.
Specific Responsibilities
Setting goals and developing plans for business and revenue growth
Planning and implementing new target market initiatives
Scoping Donors’ funding landscapes to identify grants that match the objectives of the organization
Analyze grant / funding solicitations issued by donors; explore and develop partnership options with organizations and provide information and recommendations to inform decision-making about the opportunity
Study and comply with the requirements for Request for Proposals / Request for Applications (RFPs/RFAs)
Develop proposals for matching grants, collaborate with Graphic Designers during layout, conduct a final review of proposals, and ensure they are ready for timely submission
Edit documents for accuracy and clarity and format documents based on submission requirements
Respond to funder questions and incorporate feedback and revisions
Submit / present grant proposals to potential investors, donors and business partners
Maintain accurate record of past and present grant opportunities, deadlines, and proposals
Networking: develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with current and potential donors and other stakeholders
Collaborate with partner organizations including negotiating partner roles and responsibilities, planning and facilitating internal and external strategy meetings and leading proposal development teams.
Detail the impact of a grant
Attend kick-off meetings to determine project scope
Help create project schedules and deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
This position requires a minimum of MBBS Degree.
A Masters’ Degree in Public Health is an added advantage.
Required Experience:
The candidate must have at least 7 years cross-cutting experience with NGO in International Health and Development issues, Gender Equality, Reproductive, Maternal New-born, Child, and Adolescent Health Plus Nutrition (RMNCAH+N), HIV Management and Prevention, Malaria Control and Prevention and Gender Based Violence.
He/she must have skills in Grant Proposal Writing
He/she must also have excellent written and oral communication skills to present ARFH’s business development opportunities and proposal plans in a concise and articulate way and for drafting compelling and responsive content for technical proposals.
Must be detail-oriented, possess knowledge of current trends in donor interests, have negotiation skills and be able to conduct thorough research.
Have high proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite utilization, excellent organization and communication / interpersonal / presentation skills with ability to multitask and work on tight deadlines.
Willingness and ability to travel.
