Job Brief

• We are looking for a cook who will oversee the day to day running of the kitchen, prepares food for the clients, experiments with new methods of cooking and new menu items.
• A cook who can cook both traditional and international dishes, someone excited to try and master new recipes and is willing to research new, interesting dishes for the clients to try.
• The cook must maintain a sanitary kitchen, ensure all kitchen areas are kept organized and clean, including storage shelves, work surfaces, refrigerators, etc. and attend to details and presentation of each food order by the client.
• The cook will be expected to live within the work premises and observe all covid protocols and travel restrictions put in place by the employer.

Job Description
The key duties of the Cook will include but are not limited to:

• Prepare meals according to employers' recipes or tastes, handle all meals for the family and possibly for other household staff and visitors;
• Stock, organize, and clean the kitchen and cooking utensils immediately after they are used;
• Shop for or order food and kitchen supplies and equipment when needed;
• Serve meals and snacks to employing family and their guests;
• Plan menus according to employers' needs and diet restrictions;
• Plan and prepare food for parties, holiday meals and special events;
• Direct the operation and organization of the kitchen and all food-related activities, including the presentation and serving of food;
• Specialize in preparing fancy dishes and/or food for special diets; and
• Create and explore new cuisines.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of an OND in food and nutrition or graduate of catering school
• Minimum of 5 years’ work experience with private family, reputable restaurant or cooperate organization
• Fully vaccinated or willing to be fully vaccinated
• Willing to submit to food handlers’ health screening
• Good communication skills
• Flexible with work schedule - has a willingness to work variable hours
• Good knowledge of a range of food processes including baking sweet and savory dishes, making pizza, meat pies, shawarma, finger foods, quiches, burgers, grilling, etc.

Salary

• N100,000 monthly.
