We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant / Payment Officer

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting transactions
• Prepare budget forecasts
• Publish financial statements in time
• Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Ensure timely bank payments
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
• Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
• Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
• Audit financial transactions and documents
• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
• Comply with financial policies and regulations
• Compute reports regarding the finances of the company.
• Establish charts of account and assign entries to proper account.
• Develop and maintain solutions to financial problems
• Provide internal auditing for the company.
• Prepare accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports to access accuracy and conformance to procedural standards.
• Compute taxes owed, prepare tax returns ensuring compliance with tax requirements.
• Provide advice to costs, revenues, financial commitment to projects, future revenues and expenses.
• Represent the company before tax authority and providing financial support during litigation if need be.

Qualifications

• B.Sc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
• 3 years work experience as an Accountant
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the International Reporting Financial Standard(IFRS)
• Hands-on experience with accounting software like ODDO
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Experience with general ledger functions
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• Additional certification (ICAN OR ACCA) is a plus
• Experience in the automobile industry is also an added advantage
