We are an indigenous non-profit and non-governmental organization with Head Office in Abuja and field offices in several locations in Nigeria. We are in the business of saving lives, making life more meaningful and productive for all Nigerians and especially for people living with, and affected by HIV.

Position Summary

• The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) / PI will be responsible for providing strategic vision and leadership for the organization, reports directly to the Board of Directors and oversees the management and coordination of the organization’s work through collaborations with partners and key stakeholders.
• S/he will lead the executive management team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.
• S/he will work closely with the project’s Laboratory program leads to ensure all matters related to technical programmatic activities are addressed in an efficient and strategic manner.

Major Responsibilities
The CEO will assume the following responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and management to ensure that the mission and core values of the organization are put into practice.
• Motivate and lead a high-performance management team; attracts, recruits, and retains organizational talent; and provides mentoring to managers, supervisors and staff.
• Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the organization.
• Maintain a strong financial and risk-management oversight; manages the budget and investment strategy; ensures compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations; and ensures institutional oversight is in place.
• Provide grant management fiscal oversight for all sources of grant funding to ensure timely reporting and compliance with requirements of each funding source.
• Provide leadership and broad scientific and technical guidance on project activities.
• Provide oversight of all project activities to ensure results and that they are aligned with organizations overall strategy and mission.
• Implement and oversee the growth and strategic management of the organization.
• Work with the management team to ensure that all work meets the highest ethical standards and is conducted without real or apparent conflicts of interest and in compliance with federal, state, local laws and university policies.

Requirments
Education:

• Doctorate Degree in Medicine, Public Health or related subject area.

Experience, Skills, and Minimum Qualifications:

• Commitment to the mission, philosophy, and values of the organization and the ability to articulate its needs, opportunities, and aspirations with clarity and enthusiasm.
• Strong educational background and intellectual curiosity about and an understanding of HIV, other HIV-related conditions, health systems and global health.
• Tested and proven fundraiser with a minimum of 10 years of non-profit senior management experience; track record of success in crystalizing a fundraising message, developing and implementing scalable fundraising plans and growing major gifts from individuals and foundations; and digital / grassroots fundraising or communications experience a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with a recognized ability for public speaking and service as a media spokesperson; a record of high-quality publications is a plus.
• Ability to frame a strong case for fundraising support, establish short and long-term goals, identify opportunities and develop initiatives.
• Highly organized with aptitude for planning effectively to meet deadlines, and ability to handle multiple accountabilities simultaneously, balancing big-picture goals with immediate demands.
• Diplomatic, and of high integrity with sound judgement; creative, out-of-the-box thinker and problem solver who excels in collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.
