Job Title: Quality Management Systems (QMS) Lead

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Laboratory Program Director, S/he will provide leadership in developing, implementing and maintaining Quality Management Systems (QMS) for all aspects of laboratory practice so as to comply with National and International guidelines and standards for local and international accreditation.
Will report to the laboratory management on the functioning and effectiveness of the quality management system;
Will be instrumental in the development of a culture of quality, and provide support in conducting documented Laboratory continuous quality improvement projects;
Will develop, facilitate and co-ordinate the audit of laboratory processes and to be responsible for the dissemination of information relating to quality to all laboratory stakeholders.
Will be responsible for the co-ordination of training, development and competency assessment across all partners laboratory networks.
Major Responsibilities
With guidance from CDC and Laboratory Program Director, Lead and coordinate with all partners, the enrolment of all Laboratories into the SLMTA program
Liaise with local accrediting body (MLSCN), to coordinate and support the periodic inspections and audits of Laboratories enrolled for accreditation
Document all non-compliances, gap assessments and conduct analysis of gaps and share findings with implementing partners and other stakeholder
Communicate changes in guidelines, accreditation, inspection and laboratory professional bodies.
Responsible for maintaining a national database of auditors and assessors certified by the Nigeria SLMTA faculty
Provide specialised training on the Quality Management System
Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of Quality Management System across laboratories.
Coordinate the development of Quality Management Systems across the laboratories.
Lead the development, implementation, management and maintain a Quality Management System (QMS) database for all laboratory networks in accordance with National guidelines.
Develop and implement a Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) system for the laboratory.
Requirements
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent first Degree recognizable by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN). MSc in Biomedical Science is preferred. Professional certification in quality management is needed.
Experience, Skills, and Minimum Qualifications:
At least up to 8 years of proven practical experience working at senior level supporting quality systems in clinical laboratories
Experience of assessments and Laboratory audits
Experience of supervising, training and supporting other staff within a team
Experience of leadership in a laboratory environment.
Multidiscipline laboratory experience. Is familiar with
Ability to produce written reports, policies and protocols
Thorough knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and issues.
