The African Center of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP), Bayero University Kano is a World Bank supported Center, that aims to strengthen interdisciplinary approaches to promote population health outcomes through training and research for evidence-informed policy development in West Africa.
This Approach utilizes non-traditional partnership among different sectors of the community, public health, industry, academia, health care and local government entities to achieve plosive health outcomes. Specifically, the centra is designed to implement high quality training and applied research for health concerns of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 3): maternal health, child health, and infectious diseases(malaria, TB and HIV) with particular emphasis on increasing human resources for health and Turning Research into Practice (TRIP)’ for evidence-proven interventions.
The program is being implemented by the Bayero Universty Kano in collaboration with regional and International academic institutions, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, University of Benin, the University Of Maradi, Niamey, the Bayero Medical College USA, Vanderbilt University, USA, University of Nebraska, University of Cambridge, UK. University of Sheffield, UK, University of Birmingham, UK e.t.c As well as international partners such as World Health Organization, Ferrring International e.t.c.
