Job Description
The Project Manager GoVote is responsible for successfully planning, organising, and managing the completion of CcHUB’s GoVote 2023 Project while ensuring it is on time, on budget, and within scope.
The Project Manager should have a solid background and experience in governance, laws and policy, with a nuanced understanding of Nigerian election and governance processes.
About GoVote
First launched in 2015, GoVote is a platform and campaign to educate Nigerians on how to register to vote in the General Elections and to mobilize them to do so. Using Govote.ng as a focal point, we are proposing an aggressive voter mobilization drive which aims to register
5,000,000 people by the 2023 elections. Leveraging technology and community networks, the project is targeted at mobilizing young people aged 18 - 40, but also other demographics and blocks of people who would not ordinarily vote, to exercise their constitutional right to choose who they are governed by at all levels of government.
Responsibilities
Manage GoVote 2023 Project day-to-day with a view of closing the project according to defined success criteria, while remaining on time, within budget and continually engaging all stakeholders.
Identify critical governance and elections priorities for the practice and initiate activities around these priority areas.
Carry out original, deep, research on key governance and elections issues in liaison with CcHUB Research team, analyze large sets of data and information, drawing relevant conclusions and prepare and write high quality papers and reports .
Lead in developing proposals, securing growth opportunities and initiating new activities toward GoVote Project success.
Oversee the publicity of activities, generate new ideas for improving outreach and work with the Communications team to ensure adequate strategic communications.
Guide the design of creative knowledge-based materials and dissemination of the same
Maintain comprehensive records on all activities, report progress of project at regular intervals to practice lead and produce reports for management team and funders.
Support the maintenance of existing relationships with partners as well as proactively identify and engage new partners.
Overall input into planning, budgeting and operations of project activities as well as the Practice.
Curate new and maintain existing communities of practice, creating an authentic and engaging environment around governance and elections issues.
Represent CcHUB at meetings, conferences, as strategic, appropriate or valuable.
Provide support for other areas of the Practice's work.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s or Masters’ Degree from an accredited university (in Law, International Relations, Policy, Social Sciences or related field).
At least three (3) years cognate experience within the civil society, social justice, funder/donor space in the area of governance and elections.
Competencies:
A solid understanding of the Nigerian public sector with relationships in academia, government agencies, civil society, start-ups and the development partner community.
Nuanced understanding of Nigerian election and governance processes.
Demonstrates understanding and use of basic project management. methodologies, including the ability to plan, manage and maintain a complex, organization wide program over the longer term.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Practical knowledge of different message distribution techniques to ensure end user communities understand and continually apply the required behavior necessary to reduce the 'human factors' risk.
Effective use of digital technology, such as audio, video, social media, online communities, blogs, and other web-based technologies to drive and effect change.
Creative thinking and understanding of multicultural audiences to produce engaging materials in a variety of formats and media, including storyboards, user guides, and gamification elements.
Resilience and flexibility to explore different paths to achieve an outcome and adjust quickly and efficiently to new circumstances and measured results
Confidently develops and delivers presentations.
