Job Title: Accountant

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• We are looking for an Accountant to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.
• Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns.
• To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare entries to capture monthly product transactions in the accounting system.
• Preparation of Trade Payables/Receivables and other schedules for all items in the financial statements.
• Account for payroll costs
• Perform general ledger account reconciliation
• Accounts payable and receivable management
• Bank account reconciliation
• Ensure that all transactions are accurately and promptly captured.
• Preparation and processing of invoices and payments.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience

• OND / HND / B.Sc Degree in Accounting
• 3+ years of finance / accounting experience ideally in professional services / consulting environment
• Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access)
• Relevant knowledge of local accounting rules and taxes
• Specialized functional knowledge (e.g., finance, accounting, audit, cash management, taxes)
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem solving skills; ability to anticipate and independently resolve issues
• Independent project management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
