Responsibilities
What you'll be doing:

• Create an inspiring vision and strategy for the product and develop this throughout its lifecycle, in collaboration with the Company’s cloud strategy and the AWS Cloud Platform roadmap.
• Help to continuously communicate the vision to all levels of stakeholders across the business. Use the vision to help motivate all members of the product team by providing purpose.
• Be responsible for the stability and growth of your product based on good development practices and by enhancing it using data-led insight into business need.
• Be responsible for the success of your product by gathering feedback from users on the features you deliver and learning from that.
• Define and manage an innovative and customer-focused product development backlog. Continually prioritise the product backlog using transparent business value measurements. Track the lead time of backlog items to ensure business need is being met in a timely fashion.
• Ensure that the highest priority backlog items are refined and sized by the team and meet the teams’ “definition of ready” for next sprint.
• In collaboration with the team, set the goal and scope of each sprint. Manage change of business priorities via the backlog for the next sprint.
• Build trust with stakeholders and help them to understand agile processes so they can get the most value from the product team’s communication. Use research and data to help the stakeholders understand business value. Hold workshops with stakeholders and the development team to identify the Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
• Protect the team from distractions, in collaboration with the scrum master, and act as a representative for the engineering teams to create an environment in which the teams can deliver the best product.
• Manage the team’s competing priorities such as risks, feature requests, technical debt, and innovation time to ensure that we’re delivering well-governed, high-quality features while still allowing for innovation and experimentation.
• Ensure that appropriate prioritising, planning, resourcing and contingency for customer issues are integrated into programme and resource plans so they are central to delivery and aligned to Legal & General’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly policy.

Requirements
What we're looking for:

• Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 3 - 6 years of work experience.
• Technology-focused degree level qualifications are preferred but not essential, with demonstrable experience considered an equivalent.
• Qualifications such as Scrum Certified Product Owner are preferable.
• Knowledge of the principles of decision discretion is essential.
• Knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and tools required for software engineering is essential.
• Expert knowledge of Scrum and other agile approaches is essential.
• Knowledge of the highly regulatory environment in which the Company works is preferable.
• Proven experience in a Scrum product ownership role at a similar sized organisation is essential.
• Experience of working in a highly technical environment is essential.
• Experience of measuring a team’s success is preferable.
