Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

Location: Abuja

Job Description

• We are looking for a competent and experienced Medical Laboratory technicianto assume responsibility for the successful management of day to day operations in the Laboratory.

Responsibilities
He/She will:

• Label, sort and check specimens and organize all information into the computer system/Manual record.
• Serve as a resource for all members of the staff, which includes answering questions when asked and participating in any educational opportunities as they arise
• Identify any abnormal conditions within patients, inform the proper personnel of the abnormality and work to come up with a solution
• Inform patients of any abnormalities within their conditions and inform them of the proper steps to take for treatment
• Create a safe environment for everybody by keeping work areas clean and ensuring none of the medical equipment becomes contaminated
• Maintain database within blood bank and prepare transfusions
• Make decisions concerning sample collection and handling
• Daily instrument maintenance and quality control
• Sample testing
• Collection and interpretation of data
• Maintenance of accurate records and reporting of data
• Knowledge of critical values.

Job Requirements

• He / she must be a licensed Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Minimum of a Degree in Chemistry, Biology or related field
• At least 1 year experience
• Must possess people skills
• Communication skills are necessary for consultative interaction with other members of the health care team, technical service matters and patient education and ability toexplain complex medical terms simply
• Able to work together as part of a team
• Able to maintain a safe, clean work environment
• Superb documentation skills
• Must be resident in Abuja.

Salary
Negotiable.
