QMB Hypermart, a leading Retail and Lifestyle company in the FMCG Industry, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Internal Control & Compliance Officer

Location: Lekki, Lagos

What You Will Do

• Supervise the design and building of control frameworks in business processes and systems.
• Interpret and analyze reports/data/information to identify possible risk exposure.
• Review internal audit and regulatory compliance reports and monitor the implementation of the recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures of each department and processes in line with best practices.
• Prepare and present reports that reflect audit results and document process.
• Prepare and submit periodic activity/ reports to the Head audit & finance on activities of the department.
• Ensures that daily, weekly, monthly stock-taking of items are carried out.
• Checking the accounting and internal control system to ensure that these are suitably designed to reduce the possibility of fraud and error.
• Perform and control the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability, and compliance with all applicable statutory regulations.
• Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost reductions.
• Conduct follow up audits to monitor management’s interventions
• Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding the sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, and performance standards.
• Conduct risk assessment of all departments

What You Will Bring

• Degree in relevant study
• 4- 7 years of experience in control and compliance units
• Professional qualification will be an added advantage
• In-depth knowledge of the legislation, rules, and regulations
• Technical proficiency in the development and implementation of Compliance programs.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and direction in control and compliance.
• Ability to engage with regulators and law enforcement agents.
