We are seeking to engage a suitable and qualified candidate as a Communications Associate to support the documentation and dissemination of lessons from implementations of routine immunization strengthening programs over Northern Nigeria over the next 7 months.
The Communication Associate will be primarily responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive, program-wide communications to disseminate insights from program implementation to both internal and external (donors, partner organizations, governments) audiences.
S/he will lead the development and dissemination of written and audiovisual content via a wide variety of innovative and effective channels.
Technical Responsibilities
The Communications Associate will work with the program manager to:
Develop storylines and key messages for newsletters, case studies, position papers, and other relevant documents to disseminate program insights and implementation experience
Copy-edit, proofread, and review project communications to suit the intended audience;
Identify and leverage the media, events and other innovative opportunities, to disseminate knowledge products to national and global audiences;
Plan and execute both in-person and virtual events such as learning exchange meetings, webinars and seminars to share project learnings with relevant stakeholders;
Produce compelling photo stories, case studies and audio-visual materials from interviews with project Stakeholders at the state and national levels to disseminate to the external audience
Cultivate professional contacts and maintain liaison with media, government, implementing partners, key stakeholders, and community organizations for the dissemination of project lessons;
Ensure compliance of all project communication with the donor's communications toolkit and other reference guidelines;
Routinely evaluate the impact of project communications, share findings with the team, and adjust communications strategy accordingly;
Perform other tasks as requested by the project leadership team.
Expected Deliverables
Over the next 6 months, the communications associate will be expected to:
Hold 2 successful webinars;
Publish 3 case studies/stories to a targeted audience;
Publish 3 project briefs
Requirements
Education and Experience
Academic training: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Public health, or any other related field. Master's degree preferred;
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in communications for public health and/or international development, including knowledge and competence in research writing; digital communications; social media publishing and management; web content management and analytics; and digital publicity and media coverage;
Professional credentialing: Additional professional qualification/certification is advantageous.
