Job Title: Fraud Risk Officer

Job Description
Observe various customer transactions to flag or identify suspicious activity such as account take over, friendly fraud, theft and similar other risks.
Identify fraudulent transactions and cancel them from further processing.
Investigate suspicious activity and obtain useful information to help track and stop the culprit and a re-occurrence.
Contribute to the development, review and improvement of the organisation’s anti-fraud policies, strategy and procedures internally and externally.
Carry out in-depth analysis of all applications and existing fraud cases to prevent re-occurrence
Analyse existing cases to identify the characteristics of fraud and levels of risk exposure to present preventive measures and recommendations for review of the existing anti-fraud policy
Ensure no fraudulent transaction gets approved through appropriate anti-fraud investigation
Keep models for analysing fraud across the organisations and applications coverage area.
Determine patterns of fraud over certain areas and analyse larger criminal rings responsible for fraud activity.
Identify certain security gaps that can be targeted over time, so that the organisation can identify system improvements that can be made to eliminate the risk of fraud or reduce the ways in which it can occur.
Identify and recommend suitable software tools that aid fraud detection and prevention, can also report security threats and suspicious activity quickly.
Monitor real time queues and identify high risk transactions within the business portfolio.
Resolve queued transactions within the service level agreements to reduce potential revenue losses.
Interact with banks and customers to validate information and to confirm or cancel authorisations.
Resolve customer issues within the scope of existing service level agreements.
Monitor constantly customer and transactional records to identify unauthorized transactions and fraudulent accounts.
Maintain fraud analysis models to improve efficiency and effectiveness of company systems.
Ensure confidentiality of all information collected during investigation.
Develop new data driven rules that optimize decisioning performance between Member experience and fraud prevention
Work with external fraud prevention vendors to optimize their performance and assist in maintaining, design and implementation of existing and new fraud detection tools.
Aggregating and analysing internal and external risk datasets to understand performance of fraud decisioning and granular performance of multiple decision methods
Find insights from risk data sets to improve fraud strategies and rules
Participate in regular review of activities involving different fraud topologies
Able to lead fraud/risk investigations for both simple and complex cases to successful conclusion and mark false positives and false negative cases
Complete investigation of customers and transactions when flagged by the organisations automated monitoring system(s), manual reports, and/or referrals
Determine existing fraud trends by analysing accounts and transaction patterns
Identify system improvements to prevent fraudulent activities.
Recommend anti-fraud processes for changing transaction patterns and trends.
Develop and support the development of relevant risk, antifraud policies etc.
Generate suspicious activity reports and risk management reports for Managers.

Requirements
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree / Master Degree qualification..
Worked in a similar capacity (fraud, audit, risk, compliance) in a Fintech or Financial Institution for at least 5 years’
Experience focused on the investigation and resolution of financial crimes.
Strong knowledge of financial products
Experience with fraud tools
Deep understanding of the financial fraud space
Experience creating and optimizing fraud prevention rules and strategies
Expert-level SQL and data analysis skills
Knowledge of a scripting programming language
Strong BI and analytics skills and knowledge of tools such as SQL
