Griller at Eatwell Retail

Eatwell is a retailer of a wide variety of raw, and value-added meats, seafood, fruits, and vegetables. Our products include wholesale and retail size cuts of beef, lamb and pork, diverse poultry items such as chicken, duck, quail and wide selection of seafood to include fish, crabs, calamari, and octopus.

Semi processed items like burger patties, meat balls, sausages, pre-marinated kebabs, are also offered, alongside ready to eat snacks. Our lean meat and superfoods section for the health conscious is supported with our in house food advisory staff. We offer convenience across all our sales channels and you can experience this by either walking into our store or shopping via any of our shopping channels.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Griller

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Description

• The recruiter is a food service company with the vision to change the narrative of food business in Nigeria. The underlying concept of our business is healthy and convenience food prepared in a clean hygienic environment. We seek the services of an experienced Griller for the company

Responsibilities

• Preparing ingredients and chopping vegetables required for the dish.
• Cutting and seasoning meat before preparation.
• Grilling meat and vegetables at the right temperature and to suit the customer’s taste.
• Checking that the ingredients are safe and consumable.
• Discarding ingredients that have expired and those that are nearing expiry time.
• Ensuring that the dish is served on time and in a presentable manner.
• Monitoring and reordering inventory supplies.
• Regulating the grill temperature to slow cook the meat.
• Cleaning the work station before and after food preparation.
• Training and supervising new grill cooks.
• Maintaining hygiene and safety standards at all times.
• Managing multiple food orders at once.
• Labeling and storing all food items properly and at the right temperature.
• Tasting the dish before serving.
• Checking and receiving raw food items from suppliers.
• Ensuring that the dish is served at the correct temperature.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts or similar field.
• Proven work experience in the Hospitality industry.
• Familiarity with grilling equipment like oven, skewers, and chimney starter.
• Knowledge of different grilling methods like direct heat grilling, smoking, and rotisserie grilling.
• Ability to work for long periods and on public holidays.
• Knowledge of industry standards and food safety guidelines.
• Good communication skills.
• Demonstrating proper hygiene behavior.
• Ability to offer excellent customer satisfaction.
