The main function of this role is to direct, supervise and troubleshoot routine issues that occur on the job site and oversee daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in a safe and efficient manner.
The duties are to hire construction workers and trade professionals to perform specific tasks, monitor budgeting expenses for workers, supplies or tools and review laws and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
Role Responsibilities
Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and personnel
Delegate individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors
Recruit, hire, train, manage and mentor employees and contractors
Provide adequate resources and staff to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices and safety needs
Emphasize safe use of tools, machinery and equipment and provide training on safety gear, helmets and procedures
Develop and manage project budgets and quality standards for all sites
Resolve conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably
Regularly report project status to supervisors, site engineers and other officials
Work closely with the management team to determine hire needs, deadlines for specific tasks, and safety protocols to enforce among workers.
Manage projects onsite and host meetings with teams of construction workers to establish project deadlines, safety procedures, work schedules or payment details.
May also be responsible for use of their trade experience to participate in construction projects.
Experience / Qualifications
OND in any related field / Trade test certificate
Proven experience as a Foreman for other construction sites, in-depth knowledge of equipment and construction procedures
Minimum of 5 years Concrete, Earthworks and asphalt experience.

Technical skills to interpret construction methods and technologies along with contracts and technical drawings.
Time-management skills to meet deadlines and ensure construction phases are completed on time so that the next phase can start.
Writing skills to write budgets, proposals and plans as well as document work progress for clients and others Stakeholders.
