Job Description

• Our client is looking for Project Engineer who will be delivering the Project Engineering strategies and to build individual to add to tackle complex trenchless projects.
• As a project engineer you will work with both the Engineering and Construction groups on design and construction projects across the project value chain.
• Responsible also in planning and profile design, pull load calculations and pipe stress analysis

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering/design execution, planning, and interface and ensure that activities are completed on schedule and within the budget.
• Prepare project execution and quality plans, projects plan of works, initial projects safety review, initial projects environmental review, and project control system.
• Coordinate with project engineers and other discipline engineers and ensure consistency in execution of project management activities.
• Organize and conduct project meetings and technical and progress reviews. Candidate Specification The ideal candidate will possess the following:
• Possess sound judgment; highly developed management, organizational, interpersonal, presentation/training, oral and written communication skills; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong technical and design skills.
• Proficiency in the following required: HDD feasibility, reporting, geotechnical investigations, soil borings/sampling, laboratory testing parameters, conceptual and detailed design, design and construction specifications, field workspace and logistical requirements, constructability, and construction inspection.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and work with multi-disciplinary teams; and, deal with complex issues and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to prepare and interpret design reports, recognize problems and define and evaluate solutions.
• Ability to contribute to business growth.
• Build and manage credibility with stakeholders and delivery team.
• Continually manage, train and coach other team members to become self-sufficient in all relevant technical and non-technical areas.

Preferred Background and Experience

• Minimum of B.Sc in Mech, Engineering discipline, Mathematics or Physics will be an advantage.
• NSE or project management qualifications.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience as a Project Engineer.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Stakeholders Management.
• Change Management.
• Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
• Great awareness of cyber security trends and hacking techniques.
• Knowledge of construction principles, techniques and procedures, occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Ability to effectively discuss project issues with contractor, project team and clients, including ability to resolve conflict situations.
• Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the project team, obtaining and sharing necessary information.
• Strong organizational skills and understanding of task assignment and schedule.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation.
• Working knowledge of critical path method scheduling.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
