Data Analyst (Remote) at Releaf

Releaf invents both financial and food processing technology to increase smallholder harvest yields and create high-quality raw material supply chains for African Consumer Brands, starting in the $3B Nigerian vegetable oil market. We believe this layer of the economy is underdeveloped, valuable, and possible to scale quickly in.

Our first patented technology is Kraken, Africa’s first industrial oil palm (nut) processor compatible with smallholder varieties. We 1. Aggregate smallholder crops, 2. Process them with Kraken, and sell high-quality vegetable oil to Consumer Brands. 80% of oil palm supply comes from smallholders and Kraken can process 500 metric tons weekly.

Releaf is led by Ikenna Nzewi and Uzo Ayogu, who have been friends and co-founders since college at Yale and Duke. Releaf is backed by Y Combinator, Kepple Africa, Bill Gates' Breakthrough Energy, and Samurai Incubate, amongst numerous HNIs including Justin Kan, Stephen Pagliuca, Iyin Aboyeji, and Jeff Ubben.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Data Analyst

Location: Remote

Role Summary

• The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the business plan by designing, creating and coordinating systems that collate and analyze data to continuously improve business practices. Interpret and analyze data reports and provide ongoing reports, evaluate and utilize data and train users on reporting tools and provide support.
• You are highly analytical and enthusiastic about applying a quantitative framework to business problems through performing analysis, data mining, predictive modeling, business forecasting, applied statistics.

Role Responsibilities

• Collect and managed useful data while also identifying trends and patterns
• Fix coding errors and other data problems in designing and maintaining data systems
• Collaboration with the software team to align data between SALT and sheet infrastructure and resolve issues
• Work with various stakeholders to generate various reports, visual charts to show performance
• Filtering and cleaning data
• Working with management to prioritize business and information needs
• Locating and defining new process improvement opportunities

Role Requirements

• Minimum of HND / B.Sc in Statistics, Business Analytics or a similar field.
• Minimum of 3 years work experience as a Data Analyst or in a related field.
• Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.
• High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large-scale databases.
• Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
• High-level written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in more than one of the following: SQL, Microsoft Excel, Python, Power BI, R
• Good analytical and strategic thinking skills. 
• Attention to detail is essential

• Financially are we saving any funds for the company?
• Are we having null or fewer complaints from the stakeholders?
• Is the information or data we are sharing with stakeholders up to date or correct?
