Job Title: SQL Database Management - Subject Matter Expert

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing support of SQL Infrastructure
• Installation and configuration of SQL Server in single and cluster mode.
• Primarily role is supporting the production and development SQL 2008/2012 databases
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL on Windows Servers
• Configuring and maintaining Database replication / standby / clusters.
• Creation of maintenance plans and jobs for update stats, defragmentation
• Verify that Server has enough resources for acceptable performance
• Review contention for CPU, memory, network, and disk resources
• Review fragmentation by investigating row chaining and other areas of fragmentation
• Capture Performance Statistics using performance monitors
• Define Backup policy and retention policy for complete/differential/transaction backup
• Conduct backup, restoration drills for backup verification in different scenarios.
• Hands on experience and excellent knowledge of DB administration, License Management, Version upgrades and migrations
• Execution of backup/recovery procedures
• Creation and Maintenance of Database Instances & Performance fine tuning
• Responsible for driving all P1, P2, incidents, change requests and OEM/ vendor management for the tower
• Responsible for Technology refresh in respective domain

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in an IT related discipline
• Minimum of 8 years database management experience
• Good experience in Replication, Log Shipping, Clustering
• Experience in Database patch installation, clean up, cloning, DB Job scheduling
