The Daily Local Company Limited, publishers of Nigeria’s newest online community newspaper, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Digital Photo Editor

Location: Lagos Mainland, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The Digital Photo Editor is responsible for photo research and licensing, preparing photos for publication on the website and social media platforms, and some assigning of photography

Responsibilities

• Assist with research, editing, and licensing of images to complement Daily Local’s stories.
• Help prepare photos, captions, and credits for publicationnaijalocalnews.comand social media platforms.
• Create composites when necessary for web and social platforms.
• Commission original photography as may be required fornaijalocalnews.com
• Curate official photo department social-media feeds.
• Contribute to photographer databases.
• Additional duties as required, or as assigned by the editors.

Skills and Qualifications

• A minimum educational attainment of an HND / B.Sc with at least 2 years work experience
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Knowledge of photography, great Photoshop skills, and a general familiarity with photo rights
• Excellent organizational skills and confidence working on multiple projects with tight deadlines
• Knowledge of and interest in the topics covered on naijalocalnews.com, including local news, local politics, culture, and humour
• Willingness to work some early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• An excellent command of the English language
• Excellent English language writing skills
• An ability to work unsupervised
• Highly IT literate
• A full command of the tools required to be a successful photo editor.
