Job Title: Strategy Analyst
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
As a member of the Strategy & Growth Execution (S&GE) department, you will support the development and execution of the strategy for the Company.
You will assist with all efforts to measure and improve the performance of our operations as a department, Company and as a Group.
He/She will be expected to analyse information and data to propose relevant recommendations for Management review and subsequent execution.
This is a challenging position which requires critical and analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, a high level of personal initiative and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Analysis:
Support research, competitor benchmarking, industry intelligence, consumer knowledge and development of strategic initiatives
Analyze data and provide meaningful insights and presentations including analysis, research findings, and key takeaway for decision making.
Support business projects by creating and overseeing detailed plans for initiatives to ensure on-time, within scope and budget delivery.
Assist with the planning, managing and monitoring activities for project/program management support
Develop business and operating models addressing everything from a specific function to the entire Company & Group
Support in building analytical models and performs regular financial, competitive, performance, and market analyses for the business in order to comprehensively value business opportunities and ensure well-founded strategies are prepared for Management.
Conduct adhoc pieces of analysis and provide regular market intelligence for management review meetings
Applies analytical rigor to define outcome measures, improve prioritization, increase agility in decisioning, improve ability to evaluate progress towards business outcomes, and to evaluate risks to strategic goals.
Leverages advanced data-driven problem-solving techniques to manipulate and interpret business data. Translates findings into insights for strategy management and execution.
Assist with defining and creating business processes, workflows, business rules and process improvement opportunities, and providing value creation reports on such endeavour.
Perform certain analyses independently, as needed.
Strategic Management:
Support the execution of strategic initiatives through the development of work plans, gathering and generation of relevant data, driving value creation analyses, and the development of actionable recommendations.
Create and maintain strategic scorecard that monitor targets, KPIs, business and Group performance against and determine the effectiveness of the implemented strategies.
Closely manage progress against objectives, highlighting roadblocks as soon as they arise and taking full personal ownership for high-quality execution of our Company & Group strategy.
Execute functional process improvement initiatives and lead assigned projects.
Gather relevant data and requirements to develop process mapping and business process improvement, performance dashboard, etc.
Support the development of SOPs, manuals, training materials and other documents as needed to enable a successful implementation of projects
Execute on workplans, deliver on key analyses and projects, including multiple types of market analysis, competitive analysis, internal financial analysis, financial modeling, and scenario planning
Proactively pursue sources of data and insight needed to complete analysis and ensure pace of progress and quality of analysis are maintained in line with the expectations of the department.
Adopt a learning mindset and take personal responsibility for continuous performance improvement, and for supporting the ongoing growth and success of the department against its broader objectives.
Qualification & Experience
Relevant Bachelor’s Degree
2-3 years of relevant consulting experience in market research, strategy formulation and execution, project execution, business process improvement and data analysis.
Experience with creating frameworks, problem solving, supporting transformation and change management
Resilient and result driven, with great prospecting skills.
Ability to think strategically and creatively with an innovative mindset that is constantly looking for ways to improve things.
Must be an agent for positive change be able to juggle competing priorities
Proven ability to build, lead and drive a highly motivated workforce for results.
