Job Title: PR & Internal Comms Senior Analyst I

Purpose (Summarize briefly the major function and purpose of the position)
The purpose of the PR and Internal Communications function is through Public Relations to positively influence, shape and manage public perception of the brand as the most desirable place to work and invest in; via communicating and promoting corporate initiatives and brand values and protecting the Company’s reputation.
Through Internal Communications, build brand ambassadors by increasing employee knowledge and understanding, creating opportunities and platforms for increased emotional affinity and driving attitudinal and behavioral change within the organization.
The PR & Internal Communications Senior Analyst I will support the day-to-day execution of the PR and Internal Communications strategy to enable the Company achieve its communication objectives.
He / she will be required to use the full spectrum of print and broadcast media to actively disseminate corporate initiatives and achievements and other Company information.
He / she will lead the cause for internal culture shift via the use of initiatives that will engage employees, boost employee morale, create positive internal chatter and showcase the organization as one that truly cares.
Scope of Responsibility & Accountability
Responsible for the successful execution of approved PR & Internal Communications strategy across all platforms
2nd level / stage development of broadcast and print media content
Support management of media partners across print and broadcast platforms
Support management of PR crisis
Responsible for initiating 1st level ideas for Internal Communications initiatives
Management of 3rd party vendors (i.e. PR Agency, Advertising Agency, etc.) for successful achievement of objectives.
Public Relations Responsibilities
Support the PR & Internal Comms Associate for the successful implementation of approved PR and Internal Communications Strategy
Support the development of PR plans for events that the Company and its executives will be attending as sponsors or speakers
Ensure timely deployment of daily media reports to key Executives within the organization
Development and management of process to ensure media database (local and international) is consistently up to date
Ensure timely development and deployment of ecards to media personnel for key events (birthdays, public holidays, etc)
Guide PR & Internal Communications Associate in the development of 1st stage drafts of content such as press releases, news stories and feature pieces
Accountable for ensuring content for print and broadcast media are reviewed and feedback given in a constructive and timely manner
Review of deployed content to ensure it is on brand factually and grammatically
Monthly tracking, analysis and reporting of Oando mentions in traditional media
Development of relationships with key journalists, editors and other influential contacts within the media as appropriate
Support management of PR crisis
Support execution of PR plans for local and international events
Internal Communications Responsibilities:
Support the development of internal campaigns for different functions within the organization
Execution of an employee engagement communications program
Development of RAG (Red, Amber & Green) work plans for flawless execution of weekly tasks and monitoring of timelines to ensure deadlines are not missed
Independently and via 3rd party Agencies support the creation and validation of messages to ensure messaging consistency across all Internal Communications platforms
Work with HR peers and cross-functional teams to develop and understand employee perceptions through internal engagement surveys and other research
Monthly tracking and evaluation of employee engagement activities (analysis and reporting); developing lessons learned to guide employee engagement activities in a new quarter
Management of Advertising and PR Agencies to ensure compliance with Terms of Engagement / Scope of Work and successful achievement of PR & Internal Comms objectives
Ensure Oando employees are adequately armed to act as brand ambassadors through internal education and awareness campaigns
Support the review of designs / creatives developed by internal graphic artists and Advertising Agencies to ensure they address creative brief and stakeholder pain points
Support development and implementation of monthly staff initiatives to boost employee engagement and foster brand affinity
Other duties as directed and required as required by the Company.

Extent to which brand values, story, initiatives and achievements are positively reinforced on internal and external platforms (print, broadcast and digital)

Job Specification
A Bachelor’s Degree in any subject, preferably in the Social Sciences, Administration or Humanities
2-3 years’ work experience in Public Relations
Proven writing experience, specifically writing for PR purposes (new stories, articles, press statements) would be highly advantageous
A good understanding of internal communications, digital, branding or events and sponsorship would be an advantage
Conversant with various social media platforms
