Overall Job Functions

• The successful candidate will be a key member of the senior management team and will provide strategic direction for the implementation of the maternal and child component of the various health interventions including comprehensive HIV care and treatment services.
• The Associate Director, PMTCT is responsible for technical/clinical care and management aspects of PMTCT activities.
• He/She will oversee a team of managers providing technical support in capacity building, clinical service delivery of PMTCT care etc at the central office to supported facilities providing HIV/AIDS care and treatment services that are consistent with the national HIV/AIDS plan in Nigeria.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide technical support in the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of activities, strategies and policies around HIV prevention with focus on integrating
• PMTCT interventions
• Work with field managers to ensure the implementation of quality continuum of care for HIVpositive pregnant mothers and their HIV-exposed or infected infants, provide technical assistance in innovative HIV case finding amongst pregnant women and their exposed infants
• Lead an MDT to perform or out-perform by aligning team goals, roles, responsibilities, and work output to the broader vision/mission/strategy and strategic goals of CIHP and donor partners
• Support sustainable integration of PMTCT into PHC service delivery to strengthen the health system at that level including cervical cancer screening
• Develop and implement innovative strategies that improves ANC uptake as an entry point for RMNCH services
• Attend and represent CIHP in national TWG and other technical platforms
• Scale up and strengthen the cPMTCT to address PMTCT service delivery gaps
• Support the development of technical skill transfer strategies that may include capacity building materials, service delivery support resources and other system support documents.

Qualifications & Experience

• A Degree in Medicine or Nursing with at least 7 years of experience in implementing PMTCT related public health interventions
• At least 4 years of experience in a mid leadership position with evidence of significant contribution to program growth
• Experience in facilitating skill and context-based sustainable context-based capacity building
• Thorough understanding of the Nigerian healthcare system especially the PHC and ability to work in diverse cultural settings
• People management skills and ability to galvanize effort toward desired goals
• Strong mentoring and coaching skills
• Mid-level data analytical skill with contextual interpretation
• Proficiency in oral, written and presentations skills in English an ability to translate concepts and themes in local languages will be an added advantage
• Proficiency in technical written that support stakeholder’s decision making.
