A non-governmental organization with grants from international development partners is recruiting suitable candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Finance Analyst (SFA)

Location: Abuja, Nigeria
Employment Type: full-time
Reports to: Finance Lead
Contract: Possibilites for a long term, 3-year contract.

Job Responsibilities

• The SFA will be responsible for monthly reconciliation of project accounts managed by project accountants.
• S/he will be responsible for the validation of bank statements and balances.
• S/he will also be responsible for reviewing monthly accounting entries of project accountants, their balance sheets, and cash flows.
• The ideal candidate will implement and maintain a system of internal controls that will ensure that donor's funds are safeguarded and that all financial reports prepared by project accountants are prepared in alignment with donor's financial policies and compliance requirements.
• S/he will conduct financial analyses and reports, in particular forecasting, budgeting and management accounts.
• Conduct short, medium and long term strategic financial planning, producing statement financial statements and modelling.
• S/he will monitor and forecast cash position, including adjustments for income and expenditures.
• S/he will supervise the migration of excel projects accounts to new platform using accounting software; establish functional sub-accounts on the platform to track taxation, consultants, grant awards and personnel; and track exchange rate gains.
• The ideal candidate must have a passion for figures, be energetic and be excited by establishing accountable systems for donor funded project.

Job Requirements

• S/he must have First Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics or Accounts, and professional qualifications such as ACCA, ICAN, or CFA.
• S/he must have minimum of 5 years accounting experience with donor funded grants and systems.
• S/he must be highly proficient in MS Excel and accounting software such as Quick-books.
• S/he must have strong knowledge of internal controls and financial reporting, must have participated in program reviews or end of project audits.
