Job Details

• The company requires to fill the role of an Entertainment Editor - Producer to produce original content by critically analyzing selected entertainment interviews, debates, and speeches from major news organizations for the presence of propaganda, misleading talking points, and other similar techniques of persuasion?

Job Description

• Ensuring that selected entertainment news is accurate, easy to follow and captivating for readers.
• Consistently keep upkeep up with recent trends in the entertainment field.
• Attend live shows, films and concerts, and then review the performances in their show segments.
• Develop engaging concepts and ideas for stories to be included in the entertainment section of the news.
• Assign story ideas production team and make decisions as to the final copy.
• Providing new ideas to incorporate into the show
• Work with show producers to write voice overs, manage live shots, handle guest segments, and write snappy teases
• Create production elements for scripts, including tape and graphics
• Identify News, select video and sound bites, oversee editing, conduct interviews, and write stories for television and the internet
• Guiding team members in the entertainment team to ensure their task and deliverables such news contributions to the entertainment news, or shows are competently , comprehensively and timely achieved.
• Preparing operating budgets, participating in entertainment staff board meetings, and assisting with graphics concepts.

Qualifications

• BA / BS in Journalism, Communications, English, or related field
• 5 years and above of experience producing LIVE TV
• Creative, flexible, and calm under pressure with the ability to turn their hand to News and Features.
• Broad knowledge of current affairs and popular culture is essential.
• Knows how to stack a rundown for broadcast
• Creative writers who can write television entertainment scripts that are informative, conversational, and enticing to our viewers.
• Energetic and friendly personality
• Available to work weekdays from 6:30AM-3:30PM, sometimes later if need be, and available for station weekend events as well
• Organization skills
• The ability to work under constant deadlines
• Ability to calmly handle live TV situations and changing events
• Can multi-task under pressure
• Demonstrated social media proficiency, especially in the field, including an active strong presence on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
