Job Title: Software Developer

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Summary

• We need a Software Developer in our establishment located on the Victoria Island side of Lagos.

Job Objective

• The Software Developer is generally responsible for the innovation, development, design and implementation of new or modified software products in the company.
• He or she will primarily revolve around building software by writing code, as well as modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces.
• The Software Developer will be involved in directing system testing and validation procedures, and also working with customers or departments on technical issues including software system design and maintenance.

Functional Responsibilities

• Investigates existing business processes, evaluates requirements and defines the scope for recommended solutions and programmes.
• Explores opportunities for business innovation and reform.
• Researching, designing, implementing and managing software programs.
• Modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces.
• Designing and developing software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and design consequences.
• Design and update software database. This includes, but is not limited to: Software Applications,
• Web Sites, Data Communication Processes and User Interfaces.
• Identify and resolve program errors, providing technical assistance to software developers, analyze existing applications and recommend improvements for these systems.
• Establishes data management strategies to extract maximum value from information assets and support decision making and business processes.
• Translates complex software ideas and concepts into a design blueprint.
• Establishes key design principles and methodologies.
• Develops solution architecture and prepares technical blueprint demonstrating how the solution addresses requirements.
• Aid and support the coaching and training of other team members to ensure all employees are confident in the use of software applications.
• Resolves breaches.
• Compile timely, comprehensive and accurate software documentation
• Preparing reports on programming project specifications, activities, or status.
• Defines the testing objectives and criteria for success and oversees the testing and follow-up procedures for software products.

Requirements

• Minimum academic qualification of a BSc / HND in a relevant field is required
• A Higher Degree in a relevant field – i.e. Master's or Doctorate's Degree is beneficial
• Work Experience - 3 years of work experience as a Software Developer
• Professional membership/qualification from a recognized local or international professional body is beneficial
• Full-stack developer with experience developing software utilizing various coding languages including Java, C++, PHP and more
• Demonstrated knowledge of web technologies, such as HTML, CSS and Javascript
• Proficient in cloud computing
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows software, including Server, Office and Exchange
• Excellent in databases and data storage systems.
