Job Title: Equity Trader (Broker / Dealer)

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:

• Deal Origination (50%), Trading (30%), Others (20%)
• Buying and selling securities on behalf of clients and the company.
• Implementing effective trading strategies.
• Working with researchers to improve trading strategies.
• Regularly monitoring portfolios to ensure that they are guideline compliant.
• Keeping abreast with changes in the economy and the financial market.
• Assisting the company to attract new clients
• Ownership of the daily/intra-day trade, position, and reconciliation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the exchanges, regulators, clearing firms, and counterparties.
• Perform related work-corporate finance, etc

Educational Qualifications and Work Experience

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field will be an added advantage
• Professional qualification (ACS) and an Authorized Dealing Clerk of the Nigerian Exchange Limited.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in a Stockbroking Firm
• Proven experience in developing, networking, and managing the relationship with High Net-worth Individuals
• Registration with SEC as a Sponsored Individual will be an added advantage
• Proven trading experience.
• A solid understanding of financial markets.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, quantitative, and technological skills.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure/fast-paced work environment.
• Excellent presentation and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Excellent verbal and written Communication
• Proven trustworthiness and performance under high ethical standards
• Good interpersonal relationships.
• Must be highly energetic, motivated, and results-driven, brilliant and experienced traders.
• Traders confident in their ability and knowledge across any or all asset classes will be considered.
• Experience in proprietary trading at an investment bank is preferred.
