Job Title: Senior Analyst, Field Research

Location: Lagos

Summary

• The candidate being sought would be at home with conducting research and has ambition in that regard. The immediate responsibility is collecting raw data from the company's customers in different categories as a direct feedback for product advisory and new market development.
• The objectives of research may change as the company grows and market may demand.

Job Description

• To lead the conception, planning and execution of research activities of a unit within a department and be responsible for the on-field activities of sourcing, extraction, collation and presentation of raw data as well as the post-data-gathering functions of analyses, interpretation and application of research. Reports directly to the HOD.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Travels to field sites to collect and record data and/or samples as appropriate to the specific objectives of the study.
• As appropriate to the specified position, codes and verifies data in accordance with specified research protocol and coding procedures, and enters data into a computer database and/or spreadsheet application for subsequent analysis.
• Develops or assists in the development of interview schedules; contacts potential subjects to introduce and explain study objectives and protocol, and arrange interviews either in person or by telephone.
• Identifies and compiles lists of potential research subjects in accordance with study objectives and parameters, as appropriate to the individual position.
• Conducts and records face-to-face and/or telephone interviews with subjects, in accordance with predetermined interview protocol, data collection procedures, and documentation standards.
• Reviews and edits data to ensure completeness and accuracy of information; follows up with subjects to resolve problems or clarify data collected.
• Prepare and Present Progress Reports to HOD during the pendency of every research assignment.
• May set up, calibrate, and maintain laboratory and/or field research equipment, as specified by the requirements of the study.
• May be required to lead or guide the work of IT (student) employees and perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• B.Sc. Degree from an accredited institution.
• M.Sc. Degree in related field is an advantage.
• At least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Interviewing and data collection skills.
• Related Tech/Engineering Trainings and Certifications will be added Advantage
• Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.
• Ability to evaluate, verify, and edit research data.
• Skill in the use of computer spreadsheet and/or database applications in the compilation of research data.
• Computer data entry skills.
